In the past 10 days, our Leadership and People & Culture teams have come together to discuss ways we can improve our diversity and inclusion here at Walker Edison.
To extend our recognition of Black History, we will be adding Juneteenth (June 19), and MLK Day (3rd Monday in January) as company paid holidays. Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S. and MLK Day celebrates the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr., an influential civil rights leader who led campaigns to end racial segregation. We recognize this is just one step on our road to a more diverse and inclusive Walker Edison and look forward to sharing more steps we will be taking in the near future.
